Nah, my days of new bikes is long gone Nelson. I'll not comment on the artwork as I'd prefer for this thread to be not placed in speakers corner. Too many other threads are being politicalised and have ended up there.
Thanks for asking. It was a great ride, however I had a slow leak on the rear, not convinced it was a puncture, more likely rim tape failure. I ended up stopping and fitting a TPU tube, which my mini pump would not connect to, luckily my mates pump did. My mate punctured just before Westbury but he was running tubes. It rained for the last 40 miles. Luckily I have friends who live in Warminster so we popped in and borrowed their stand pump, we both had about 40 psi, not nearly enough for road bikes. Next up is to ride back from Cheddar followed by a Sportive start & finish at Castle Coombe circuit.
I’ve been too busy at work to cycle but I have been riding the spin bike in the garage. Just refitted the road bike wheels cleaned and lubed the chain, restocked and refitted the saddle bag. I might get the gravel bike out later, but I need to clean and fit the Roadlok to the Multistrada.
Sounds eventful, great result all the same. Well done and welcome to the club... No pedaling for me for a few weeks, physiotherapist is having a look at a niggly knee. Just hoping it's not another 'age related' issue, got enough of those!
For months I have had a niggly MVO in my left leg and a pain in the side of my left foot, just can’t shake them off, age is PITA.
Yesterday, my wife dropped me and two friends off in Sainsbury’s car park at Cheddar. The challenge is that you set off and are straight into a climb. The climb itself is not too steep but the added excitement was the road surface has been planed off. Our ride was 56 miles with just over 3,000 ft of elevation. We stopped for lunch at the walled garden at Mells, which I was deeply suspicious of but turned out to be extremely good. With about 25 miles to go I had a slight twinge in my left knee, which is a new situation for me. With 5 miles to go I was confident i would be calling my wife to rescue me. Somehow I nursed myself home. As soon as I got off the bike I had no pain and 26 hours later still don’t. All three of us were worried about the climb, but it wasn’t tough at all, the difficult climb was into Frome, where I managed to trim 1 min 5 seconds off my previous efffort.
Bit of a change today, currently in Devon for a week so managed to get onto the Tarka trail. I rode some of it in 2022 with two friends when we did our first C2C. 24.7 miles, almost flat.
Any of you noticed a change/glitch on Strava? Under Profile > My Efforts. These metrics are now being displayed in Elapsed Time rather than Moving Time. Clearly elapsed time can take into account all manner of stops!
