Featured Hi From Far North Of Scotland

  1. New to the forum. My wife owned this 1995 M900 since 2002, second owner. embarrassingly low mileage at about 11000mls.
She (the bike, not the wife ) has been off the road for a few years while we built a house. I'm recommissioning it incl.
New fork seals, new front tyre, oil and filter change incl. Cleaned gauze filter. Rebuild fuel pump, new belts, new fuel filter and finally new battery. Black frame isn't original nor is the copious amount of carbon fibre. The exhausts are Termis. Once it's on the road there's some cosmetic work to do on the wheels and engine paint. All good fun. 1000005924~2.jpg

  14. Yeah, it defo takes a while to go distances through Scotland. I once rode two-up from Durness to Newcastle upon Tyne in one go without stopping the engine on a KTM 990 as the starter was knackered and it was nigh on impossible to bump start. o_O

  16. It's a 1986 Harris, #44 of only about 1250 built.

  19. So I've done the oil change and the front wheel is back with a new Michelin tyre. Apparently the original A89 was discontinued about 20 years ago. LOL.
The gauze filter wouldn't come out (a common occurrence) so I pulled it out as far as it would go and examined it with a bright light and it looked clean with no lumps in it. Next job is to clean out the fuel tank and replace the filter. The original type is available again after being out of stock for some time. Much easier on the Ducati. I've recently done a fuel service on the MV which is highly complex.

  20. Interesting, is that this type?

I was using a Ryco Z382 until I sourced the above ones from eBay. The Ryco is very similar but is a smaller diameter so doesn't fit snug in the rubber sleeve.
