Iconic Auctioneers are so spammy, they list countless items on eBay at eye watering prices hoping it garners viral interest and awareness ahead of the actual auction. Will it even run, or will the ecu be locked like other ex-MGP bikes are?
It says this in the advert "Presented in 'all-original' condition and in running order (see start-up video)”. So it runs which means the ecu is probably ok. It might even be ridable for someone with some talent. It’s a very poor time to be selling real assets like cars, art and bikes, so a cheeky £250k bid might get a bargain and a lot of history.
What is the significance of a UK NOVA in this instance ? The UK government website is not specific enough about importing vehicles that will not be registered for use on UK roads. Andy
Not sure how you value a motorcycle that has no retail price and, if the rumours are true that VAG lost money on every early Veyron, would HMRC use the build cost to base their figures on From my perspective too many unknowns, especially if you want to show/parade the bike. I very much doubt the engine was refreshed for the original purchaser so no idea of how many hours/kilometres on the engine, no spares available, no-one with the equipment or skill set to service/rebuild it except for Ducati Corse. I agree with @J0n3s and have concerns over the statement, original factory electronics because Ducati Corse are known for not releasing race mapping so it might just have a neutered ECU that won’t deliver 250+ bhp and 218mph. Still, plenty of punters out there that have made money (nefariously or not) and no common sense Andy
