Double header at the cinema today for Mrs GG's birthday, punctuated by a visit to our favourite Turkish restaurant. One Battle After Another, which follows an ex-revolutionary who is forced back into his former combative lifestyle when he and his daughter become pursued by a corrupt military officer. After the first half hour, during which we both thought wtf are we watching, it did improve and wasn't bad in the end. I Swear, which tells the true story of a Scottish man living with Tourette syndrome, at a time when public awareness of the condition was virtually nonexistent. Heartbreaking, funny, enlightening and uplifting, we agreed it was the best film we have seen in a while. Go & see it.
I believe that one of those guys is the real John Davidson and that the footage is from a 1989 documentary entitled John's Not Mad. Some of that footage appeared during the credits.
I was watching Wayward, gave up. Very dull, formulaic and LGBTQ++++ Started on Task, which looks promising.
I watched The Perfect Neighbour last night, on Netflix. Was interesting to see how far someone can go when they're pushed far enough, the aftermath afterwards was quite sad, however, reading some of the social media comments about the whole thing, and the kids used to take a lot of pressure winding "the Karen" up.
Just watching series 2 of this and I do hope they build the drama in for dramas sake because if not then he’s an idiot! Quick premiss, he’s restoring cars to try and make money to go towards renovating a house for his parents), house nearly finished enough for his parents to move in next week and he decides to get someone to take a look at the floor standing open flu boiler that’s older than me and guess what, it’s condemned along with most of the system. Now any halfwit would know “that looks old” and if it involves ripping it out then maybe I should tackle that first before I renovate the house? next week he’ll probably find out it needs a rewire
