Seller’s Remorse Ducati 996 Sps

  1. A year and half ago I sold my beautiful Ducati 996 SPS along with 1299s for a 2023 streetfighter V4s. But I have always wondered how the 996 SPS is doing and is the new owner enjoying it. Don’t get me wrong I love my SFV4s it’s an absolute beast it’s fast comfortable I have added some carbon parts and will continue to make the bike my own. But on my work computer the image is of my 996 she was a beautiful bike and I wished I never sold her. The main reason for selling her was purely a financial one and I somewhat regret it. So not sure if the current owner is on this forum I hope that the bike bring you the same joy as it did for me. The 996 SPS is the best bike I have ever riden it amazing me how a 25 year old bike could handle like today’s modern bike, the way it delivered its power the sound from 50mm Termignoni. I wish the owner of no:1602 all the very best. I was not sure if I should post this, but I love to talk and reminisce about that bike in my eyes one of the best bikes you can get.

  3. I can completely understand why you would not sell it. In my case I just made a mistake.

  4. If you post the plate, someone might know the bike.

  5. Don’t feel comfortable displaying the complete plate the bike number is 1602, as not to upset the current owner.

  11. I can completely relate to this I remember one particular ride to finchingfield it’s about 45 mins from home through a combination of twisty B roads and on the way there the bike felt terrible was not turning it seem like I had no traction it’s felt like the bike was all wrong. Well I got I Finchingfield scratching my head as to why the bike feel so weird, so sat down had a coffee and cake relaxed a little, then decided to I would just go home, but to my amazement the bike came alive again and it was one of the best ride home. In short the problem was not the bike, but the fat lump on top, but I never had that feeling on the Streetfighter modern bike just help the rider feel comfortable straight away maybe

  14. After 21 summers with my 98SPS I'm wrestling with the decision of whether to sell or not. Lots of factors involved but as mentioned above, money is the major one.

  15. Don't do it

  16. Got one second hand 2002, tracked, crashed, Rx wife's favourite track bike once I'd finished with it, engine tweaked , loved riding it, currently sat in the cellar awaiting the restoration it deserves, I careful owner and me ...

  17. After 21 years I can understand the decision, but I believe that you won’t find anything that will remotely give you the same feeling and emotion as your bike, and you are likely to have some remorse if you sell it.
