(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. Will do once it’s in my garage. Many a slip etc.

  2. Spent part of the afternoon arguing with my classic collection insurance company, asking why the project 750 is not eligible to be included, when it meets the criteria to be included

They quoted it as a regular bike, half as much again as what I got it for elsewhere, but, still not as much as the robbing twats at CN :astonished:

  3. Sorry to be a “Four Ball Paul” but I have that insurance insanity beat. My car insurer refused to offer cover at my new address when I renewed recently, which was not, as you might have assumed from such a response, in Gaza or Donetsk, but a mere 100m up the road from my previous address in a sleepy Hertfordshire village (they even share the same postcode). I also have another crazy example - when I added another bike to my policy a few months ago not only didn’t my premium go up, I got a £12 refund.

  4. "small" bike things being the operative word - well it would be normally. Fitted Monster with a new battery but stubbornly did not fit the homemade-spacer under the terminal nut believing that i could jiggle the screw home in situ. could i fuck...
Anyway, got the bespoke + terminal screw up hand tight now without the leads attached and will maneauvre half a lolly stick under there when i start afresh tomorrow. (would have been done by now if only i'd done this before fitting battery in it's "coffin"..)

  5. I always fit a piece of folded cardboard under the terminal nuts…but then you knew that Chris.
I am sure we’ve all been there thinking, “yeah, it’ll be fine” and then it isn’t and one thinks “I could have done that in seconds if it weren’t for that pesky missing cardboard”.

At least you can enjoy the lolly.

  7. Paid 12 months vehicle tax for the V4 Pikes Peak. Fortunate the reminder that it’s due from 1st December came before the budget. Andy

  8. Thanks for the reminder Andy, the tax is due on my Landie at the end of the month and I need to do the same.

  9. Ordered about 450gm of wheel weights to balance the wheels on the his & his Shercos. No wonder they're currently like Tigger when on tarmac!

  10. Changed the pads and front discs on the track panigale.
Had a nasty thought that the first time I used the brakes in anger will be at the end of Almería's back straight so I had better do it right

  11. Picked up this nice little 675 Street Triple as a winter project to keep me amused. I think it’s my 6th 675 derivative so I kinda like em.
