Beware Southampton Ducati Owners

  1. Well, good news on the recovery front but obviously not so good on the condition.

Best of luck with whatever you/insurance decide.

  2. Great it was recovered and the scum arrested, but such a shame it's so badly damaged.

Do you use any additional security like a disc lock?
    was that removed easily?

Was it parked in the bike parking area on the road that goes between West Quay and the Multi-story car park?
I was all set to use my 1260 Multi to go to the Southampton Boat show this year, and would have parked there, but decided at the last minute to go by car as my Shoulder was still strapped up from surgery and driving an Auto car one handed is a lot easier than riding a bike in such a state.

  3. Total bike thieving scum, pleased they were spotted/stopped but sorry you have the damage to deal with... Can't say what really think of them as I am sure I'd get banned for bad language!

  4. That’s exactly where it was, according to the Police it’s a CCTV blind spot as well.
They think it was heaved into the back of a transit by three or four blokes and gone in under a minute then kicked to pieces at their leisure in some remote location.
Form seems to be battery angle grinder for any locks securing to the railings
Basically, if they want it they’ll have it.

  5. Those fkn battery grinder/disc cutters. Absolute game changer for these cvnts…

  6. Some chains and locks are now so grinder resistant that the thieves cut whatever the bike is locked to instead. I also once had a 996S stolen from my front garden despite being Almax chained through the frame to a ground anchor. I came out in the morning and the bike was gone but the chain and lock were still intact. It was as if Paul Daniels had been in the night and I can only assume they cut the frame.

I'm glad you got your bike back, albeit a bit worse for wear. What a sickener.

  7. Anyone caught with one of those should automatically get pinched for going equipped.

  8. ^^^^I've a much better solution to the problem, give them a army backpack and let them swim the Thames.

  9. When I hear these stories, it almost makes me want to deliberately park a bike up and sit in a van with a couple of mates close by just waiting.

It’s a shame the old bill is so stretched. Surely they could do that for hot spots etc. Catch the arsewipes in the act or better still follow them back to their little nests.

  10. What and leave their mobile camera units? Are you mad?

My mate called in a suspected burglary at a neighbours a few years back. Plod said they didn’t have anyone to attend.

He saw a traffic copper on a bike a hundred yards away and suggested he could attend. He couldn’t, apparently as he was traffic……

  11. Park it under a tree and rig up a Viet Gong style booby trap which drops a big net over them. Minimal force used, no need to fight anyone, makes them look foolish. Job done.

  12. In the past 18 months I’ve had my house burgled and my bike stolen, in both cases the Police were great.
The house break in they had both suspects arrested, one tasered, before I even knew we’d been burgled.
The bike they had located within 18hours and made an arrest, potentially breaking a gang of thieves operating across Southampton.
The two scrotes that did my house got 4 years and 7 years , so good work from the courts as well.

  14. Got to love wales and isn’t that why people buy GS’s? :joy:

Remember on one of the old 675 fests in north wales our intrepid leader got lost and all of a sudden there were 20 odd sports bikes trying to navigate down a one in three gravel trail with goats sheep and associated shite everywhere. Fun times.

  15. Who are you then? Matt LeTissier? :D

My point is they tend to pull the stops out for higher profile humans… if I get my phone snatched in London, fek all will happen. But if Dualipa gets her phone snatched- scramble all units!!!
