Pecco must have felt - how can this season get any worse. Oh well, on top of a bike he could never get on with (unless may be when it had the high mass discs up front), he collected all the bad luck you can get in a career. I mean, he was decent in FP2 and should have made it to Q2 and ran out of fuel. And in the main race, he had a decent start and Zarco launched it from absolutely nowhere. Hopefully, they will find the black cat that was hiding in his bike and kick it out for good before the next season starts. Get him the bike and he can still be up there like he demonstrated in Japan. Next year, we'll have to watch for Alex Marquez as well. He has done really well.
Closest contender to 93 and rookie of the year both on last years bike. Not a great look for Ducati even if they’ve got the number one plate back. God I hope Aprilia take/continue to take more steps forward tomorrow and going into next year. Could make things a bit more interesting.
Did you hear Biagi cheekily commenting that Aprilia was the only real Italian manufacturer because Ducati was effectively German owned by Audi...
Dig deeper (because I’m bored) and Immsi SpA, an industrial holding company listed in Italy, has a 100% controlling interest in Aprilia Racing Srl. Immsi SpA also has a 50.57% interest in Piaggio & C SpA and has motorcycle manufacture and distribution interests in China, Asia and South America (as at December 2024). It would appear that funding a MotoGP race team isn’t quite what Max would have you believe but that’s Max all over Andy
Sadly, the likelihood is Ducati will remedy the problems with their GP25 bike and of course they still have MM who will, IMO, continue racing until he betters all VR’s records. Andy
That’s one set of records I think MM has no personal incentive to better and the championship racing set up today, doesn’t provide the rider an opportunity to race in multiple different capacity classes on the same day. Marc will go down in history as one of the greats of his MotoGP era and IMO, you can’t fairly compare greats from different eras. Andy
This is the best thing about Valencia as a host circuit, the organisation, the short distances to schlep when you’ve parked your bike and the view of the whole circuit pretty much when you’ve taken your seat (the foods decent too). Then the racing starts.
