1000 miles each way, across the Alps. And Italy is scorching hot in July these days. And yes, worth going if you have never been. Don't go on a non Ducati.
Went through the Alps this July on way to Jajce it got up to 38C. I wasn’t on the Pani. That would have been suicidal.
It’s a fair way. Ridden to Mugello before and driven to Misano. So planning doing this over two weeks with WDW in the middle.
I’ve been a few times. A van with bikes in the back is best I reckon. Interested in sharing costs if anyone else is up for it.
Do you have accommodation sorted? Yesterday I was contacted by some old mates and picked-up the final room in a batch of 4 that they booked at the Mon Cheri in Riccione. They may have space for my bike in one of their vans … should know in the next week or two. Let’s keep each other updated.
If you fancy an alternative to a hotel in town and you'd like to ride through the Italian countryside... I can recommend this campsite. It's owned and operated by 2 Dutch celebrity chefs, so the food is excellent. They have a variety of glamping type tents, static caravans... The ride to Rimini is through Tavullia (home of Rossi), with lovely twisty roads. https://podereseipoorte.it/en/ Happy travels
I rode there in 2022, the heat was unbearable. If I go again, I’d fly there and rent a scooter, or just walk everywhere and get pissed all day.
im still keen but will take my as yet not bought van and leaving from south bucks. room for 2 bikes so DM me if interested and keenon the above campsite thingy
The campsite 'Podere Sei Poorte' (known as "P6P") is a lovely place. It's in the hilly countryside, so expect the sounds of cuckoo birds in the morning and in the evening fireflies lighting up the bushes as you stagger back from the restaurant. And as stated, the food is flippen amazing, and it attracts really friendly guests. It is popular, so to avoid disappointment I would recommend booking well in advance! You'll love the local twisty roads, trips into Tavullia, and if you fancy there are some lovely rides to towns like Urbino, Gubbio, San Marino... There is also a Eurospin grocery store about 20 minutes away, great for sourcing local wines & beers at bargain prices! Enjoy your holiday!
ok so its quite cheap - how far is it to whereever wdw is? is there even an address for the wdw place?
