  1. Love it. I'll have to give that a try as sweet and savoury together is by far the best food combination IMO. I love Soreen malt loaf and mature cheddar and I was mixing sweet and salty popcorn long before they started selling it in the shops (people thought I was a bit loopy until they tried it themselves). I was also putting salt on chocolate for years before fancy artisan chocolatiers did it and a pinch of salt in hot chocolate is absolutely delicious. One of my all time favourite dishes is Boebotie, a South African specifially Cape Malay/Afrikaaner concoction which is kind of like a combination of egg custard, shepherds pie, bread and butter pudding and curry. It's absolutely mad.

  4. Yep, cheese and apple is a classic combo.

    Not crumbly Lancashire then? :D

  6. You really would think they might have learnt, but clearly they haven't.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly4weze7g2o

First paragraph of the report: A police motorcyclist who crashed into a pensioner while escorting the Duchess of Edinburgh through London has choked up as he told a court it was a "tragic accident" which occurred in circumstances that he had "no control over".

    Banner headline

Royal outrider 'had no control' in fatal crash

So absolutely no change to the meaning by the edit then. The headline clearly infers that he has lost control of his machine, which is absolutely not what he said.

Mrs GG used to work for them and absolutely despairs of how their reputation has dipped.

  7. I must admit, despite being half Yorkshire myself, I do prefer Lancashire. :eyes: Bit more of a tang.

  9. Not really a story but news related, when was the last time you saw someone under pensionable age buy a newspaper?

They’ve certainly known their target audience this week that’s for sure.

  10. can't do BBC, don't have a license

  11. It isn't a live broadcast, just a news article from their website.

  12. ..all illegal for me to access now, they are draconian.

  13. nope, i reckon they would try and enforce a fine if i even said the letters #B# - the only non-live break they give you, (Bless them) is if you are watching non #B# broadcasts by rival companies (ITV,CH4 etc). They get their claws into you via these because they often part-funded their ouput.

How effective they are at tracing you viewing their "deemed illegal" output is another matter, and the link you gave above is probably the hardest, but i won't be risking it.

  14. Is tracking your adult children OK or should parents learn to let go?

I am staggered that parents want do this to their 16+ kids. I'm absolutely stunned that the 18+ young adults don't tell their parents to F.O.

"He was a bit reluctant at first, but I was like 'I pay your mobile phone bill, so if you want me to continue to pay the bill you'll put this app on your phone'.

Interestingly this might get you questioned at the Police station if you did it to your wife and she claimed that she didn't give you consent.

Do you do this to your family?
