Scraped all my enthusiasm together and forced myself out on a bike today for the first time in god knows how long, did about 150 miles I think then cleaned all the salty crud off when I got back.
I put a couple of moisture absorbing sacks - cannot recall the name - in with the bike which see to do the job.
Isn't it incredible how the simplest of jobs that you thought you were going to do end up as a nightmare. I had carried out some miner repairs to a few body components and was looking forward to reinstalling today. Being particularly windy and being Autumn my shed and garage were constantly being filled with leaves. the leaf blower would send them out but the wind blew them straight back in. OK, I thought, just collect them. Three pulls on the leaf sucker and the pull cord snaps. The rest of the afternoon and probably most of tomorrow morning will be spent replacing the pull cord which has involved the removal of 16 bolts and a load of grief as can be seen int he photo.
That's very kind to say and I appreciate it. I have owned her since 1998 which is the same year as my Ducati for which In am only just embarking upon the journey but loving it so far.
In fairness, this was never intended to be a sports car but it's rapid. If anyone wanted to race me I would simply say "how far into three figures do you want to go" Many cars and bikes will have it off the line but she will pull and pull up to 175 mph without any effort. I have often chased superbikes down the M40 and they alway pull over.
