When I had my Rocket 3, which are very sensitive to battery health as the biggest battery you can fit in the things is barely man enough, my local Triumph dealer told me to follow this routine and not to just plug in and forget. It seems to work.
Felt all happy with myself setting my best lap time round Almería circuit, then had a reality check when I found out a lad quarter my age on a honda 250 was at least 10 seconds faster
Iggy had his 6 month post-op liver function tests today to check whether the life-saving operation he had back in May had been a success. I just got a call from the vet to tell me that the results were all normal, which is a massive relief, because although his health has been amazing since then and it's like he's been turned up to 11, The Science has confirmed it. He's not really in the celebratory mood as he is still drowsy, because with Iggy being Iggy, she'd prescribed tranquillisers for him to take in the morning otherwise he would just have barked continually and tried to kick the door off his pen for the duration of his stay.
Went to see this fella play at the academy Jessie Welles, kinda like a Bob Dylan/ woody Guthrie vibe. Very good he was too.
Looking good. What are you using to polish it up with? I found starting off with a green kitchen/pan scourer works well as a start.
I actually have a bench top polisher with a mop on one end and a wire-wheel on the other...the wire-wheel just rips through it in no time.
I drove all the way up from southern Spain, survived an earthquake, yes truly there was one and the epicentre was right near us, 4.9 on the Richter scale. Didn’t feel a thing in the car. Survived heavy rain on the drive and really heavy traffic around Madrid. Survived howling winds and entertaining rough seas in The Bay of Biscay. Got back all in one piece. Even though we were delayed getting into port by a ship that had spilled bananas all over The Solent. Honestly, you can’t make this shit up. You’d have thought we could just slip by but no. Yesterday, I parked up in a public car park (which I never normally do) to give friends a bag I brought back for them. All legal. A coffee and carrot cake later and some complete mofo bashed the rear bumper on the car and just fk’d off. A Spanish kiss, in Lincolnshire!!! To say I’d like to narrow their wind pipe would be an understatement. I’d say minimum 400 quid respray, we’ll see. Either someone has no respect for other people’s property or is so senile they shouldn’t be driving. I searched the whole car park for a blue car with a tell tale white stripe. Gone. Happyfknchristmas to that moron. Well, it feels better getting it off my chest.
Ive got all of mine on a smart plug that comes on in the middle of the night (about 1am) then go off just before i leave for work - then they get a chance to discharge for a short while (all of them have battery backed GPS trackers) which put a slight drain on the battery.
Welcome back to the UK Sam, sounds like quite a journey. Sorry to hear about the damage to your car though.
Do go easy on the pressure with the wire wheel. Depending on the grade of steel the bristles are made from they can embed a layer of steel particles in the surface which obviously then go rusty and ruin all your hard work.
I had a similar thing happen to me about 5 years ago when someone on a KTM390 rudely stuck it up the inside of me at the Brands hairpin and then by degrees cleared off into the distance by braking deeper into each corner and being earlier on the throttle on the way out. When I got back to the pits I was expecting it to be some wild eyed teenage maniac, but it was in fact an old woman aged about 75. The only small crumb of comfort I took from the experience was that she was quite butch.
Longer standing members will know of my little run around. It’s a Citroen C1. The Schitroen as we affectionately call it. Had it since new in 2011. All my kids have learnt to drive in it. Every panel has damage. The bumpers are held on with zip ties. It’s not seen a dealer in over a decade surviving at my inept mechanical hands. Last night it ticked over 100,000 miles. Bit of a landmark. In my life I have owned many very nice cars (BMW M’s, AMG, Integrale, Corrado, Impreza, Porsche, Alpine etc etc). No bull, this little car is my favourite. I love it to bits as it’s the definition of anti-cool. Pic taken by daughter from passenger seat btw.
