  1. Hi All

Apart from a sticker on the wheel, how do I know if wheels are forged? Are they stamped or marked? Or are they forgeries??...

  2. Stick a pic up pal, maybe easier to confirm....

  3. Sorry, have to wait til next week when I pick it up..

    Cheers. G

  4. Well, if they haven't been turned, they are probably forged.....

    Sorry...

  5. To the dark side?

  6. is it the C section spokes?

    Also, what year are they?

can you get a photo of them, specifically the spoke details. Forgings generally are smoother than a casting on recessed areas as they're drawn from blanks / solid, rather than poured into a sand mould.

You might find that all the forged wheels might carry a mark like a TUV stamp as the magnesium rims supplied on out of the showroom bikes were TUV approved (higher alloy content, so safer for long term durability / due diligence as far as a road vehicle is concerned).

    Try this....
Bike is a 05 model, but I'll have a look once I get my greasy paws on it...

  8. get a bigger picture up me old china, but if they came out of the factory like that probably forged Marchesini - if its a ten spoke then most definitely :)

They won't be the super lightweight mag wheels, but you'll never have any trouble with them.

what made you ask the question?

  9. Hi Sev,

Its just that I dont think the vendor has had a good look at what he's got before he's sold it. I am also waiting to find out if it has a slipper clutch too ... Result...

  10. what model is it you're looking at?

    is it a 999s or R?
