Definitely. British winter weather almost comes across as vindictive in the way it seems to have been designed to piss you off.
Even this Southerner got that one; the sign that says Whitby Jet was the confirmation (We've got friends in Yorkshire so we take the North Yorkshire Moors railway when we visit and get fish & chips).
