Surprise surprise I’m out to a concert, but something a bit different; Christmas Classics at the Royal Festival Hall
Doing very similar myself this afternoon, only on a less grand scale Local church, pub after. Have a good one.
thank you for this, I haven't been to the Royal festival Hall since I saw Mike Oldfield play there. I've probably put this on here somewhere before, but he conducted the other players with his feet! I will never forget it, I was sitting right near the front by complete luck.
I can't remember, I think it probably was. I can remember that the atmosphere was more like a classical recital, everyone on best behaviour.
I would have been a bit young to go gigs at the time but would have loved to have witnessed Tubular Bells being played live. He certainly took his musical recitals very seriously.
We were out last night and didn't get in till 3am.............I had to get up at 9am to let the dogs out and to give them their breakfast and then I went back to bed to 12.30pm. Then Doris dragged me out shopping and we bought a Xmas cake
It's optional on the receipt though, clearly GG is a philanthropist. Although for balance tipping in America is to a large extent expected, or it was when I visited. My Daughter worked in hospitality for a little bit largest tip was £60 which was really appreciated, it was not ever expected though.
Sunday lunch yesterday, The Bell @Sapperton in the Cotswolds, was something special and will definately be going back. Two courses plus a shared (between three of us) bottle of very nice wine followed by a Calvados. My share of the bill was £58 which I thought, all things considered*, was good value. That inclined a 12% tip that I added to the bill. *The food was pretty spectacular if I'm honest, the wine lovely and the Calvados with the cheese course just perfect. The staff were great and the ambience spot on. Reuben, my black lab, was more than welcome. Six out of five stars on Google if I could. If you're in the area give it a try. I agree that I would resent paying that sort of money for disappointment and mediocre fare though.
