So far so good, the Slavics at work only listen to Dance music on a large speaker (loud with it too unless management come down then it’s off ski)no radio. Close call driving back though, news on the radio is Kylie Minogue and Wham are vying for the Crimbo No1 slot. Turned it off didn’t want to chance it.
this is just showing my age, and how things have finally moved on because it was always Sl#d£ for me, it was kind of okay for a decade but after that it just got depressing.
That used to be my favourite one too Chris, but I now prefer these, with The Boss just winning; that recording is 50 years old this year. Quite enjoyed this one from yesterday.
i don't know what it is, but Bruce's just works for me, always has and i'm not tired of it yet. Pogues and Kirsty - about 50/50. John Williams isn't Christmassy enough 4 me. We also have:- will await your thoughts.
Of those Chris, I like Mike Oldfield and Joni Mitchell, and I don't mind Greg Lake or Chris Rea but there are Chris Rea songs (albeit not Christmas ones) that I much prefer. Driving down the the gym earlier, this was on the radio and I didn't recognise the singer until it was announced. I went online to have another listen and I didn't realise how many versions of it there were, and this nowhere near all of them.
You also forgot Elton -surely one of the better known ones from that era? And that awful McCartney song -ugh... Of those you listed, I like Greg Lake's tune probably the best, but that might be due to getting thoroughly fed up with most of the others? Still how about these for a change? I might have saved the best for the last...
i didn't forget Elton or Paul M, they just weren't included for another reason. So it's sentimentality and age for me :- Joni Mitchell Pretenders Greg Lake Chris Rea Two of them shamelessly include "others" music, but who cares.
