Instagram advert, purporting to be by J&S Accessories clearing out carbon Alpinestars helmets, is a scam. I ‘won’ a free helmet, in my size, but before filling in all my details I checked with J&S. They confirmed it is some blaggards tryna get your information. Beware!
Yes I saw that too......but I work on the principle that if something seems to good to be true then it usually is.
I know this thread is a bit old, but I’m curious if anyone else has seen similar fake ads pop up lately. I’ve noticed more scammers copying real shop names, and some of the pages look convincing at first glance. Has anyone reported these to Instagram and actually seen them taken down, or do they just keep reappearing under new accounts?
Most Instagram ads seem to be scams. Always leave Instagram and find the actual website that is supposedly offering the product at silly prices - invariably, they’re not!
I did that and the buggers had a website too. Jacket for £35 (casual not bike) Free returns from "Blogs" of London. I checked the address and it was there, only "Blogs london" was a hairdresser and not linked Actually in China, item was a PoS and return address was at my cost to an elevator number in China. Credit card company saved me that time. However they did not help when I was scammed by Hertz
