Been for a ride out to Aberdyfi for a bite to eat with my Son. The weather forecasters were way off with their prediction, wet and cold for the majority of the ride. 5 close shaves with inattentive drivers, nothing like being behind a professional driver with fck all in the way of lights to the rear of his trailer playing guess what i’m doing and where I’m going bingo. Hope VOSA get him but unlikely in Mid Wales……..
Sorry to read this on two counts and hope it wasn't me bigging up the weather today. It was totally blue sky here all day but i didn't "seize it" like wot i shud have.
Not at all, it was suggested Wednesday morning whilst we were driving to work, forecast looked good. Sons back from uni for 6 weeks for a study break and he wanted to ride out to Wales as he hadn’t been for a ride since September. Biblical rain in Wales my waterproofs other than the gloves held out. The Ducati branded trousers that I bought from Nasher were great. Bikes are filthy, don’t even know how my Son coped so will with the Pirelli Rosso’s he has fitted. He did say it was squirming a fair bit.
Mate, almost everything I do has some element of farce involved, on road, off road or on track. There’s a post on here somewhere from a few years ago about what went on in the lead up to and during a track day which (again) started with a chaotic Friday evening where I broke down in the Blackwall Tunnel, causing its closure during rush hour, a 7 mile traffic jam, very nearly getting in a straightener with an irate lesbian bus driver and being featured on the traffic news. Or another track day where I managed to puncture the bike’s tyre while loading it on the trailer, lost the keys to the van (found them in a wheelie bin after 2 hours of searching), ran out of diesel in the middle of a roundabout over the M25 which blocked the junction so I had to be rescued by the authorities and then got black flagged the next day….. My life is basically a mashup of Rumpole of The Bailey, Shame and Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em
Was up until about half 2 this morning, celebrating my 50th birthday with my family. Was feeling quite delicate most of the day, but a cheeky glass of red with dinner seems to have done the trick! My Mrs is taking me away for the weekend, to continue the celebrations.
Alex, the Random Romanian came through. The wheel fitted and I was on my way again soon after. Amazing. Just finishing my coffee then unloading the bike. Weather is absolutely lovely, so barring any further issues - getting kidnapped by pirates or a tear in the space time continuum opening up in rural Surrey - it should be a good day.
4 offs so far, but all low speed. I’m by far the worst rider in the group and struggling to keep up as the ground is like chocolate pudding. Having enormous fun though.
We've been shopping for all the "bits" for Xmas day......cos if we didn't the sky would have undoubtedly have fallen on our heads and we would starve. I'm now £165 lighter ffs
