What did you expect ? The reliance on technology to replace the human element is a joke. In the days of yor when sportsmanship prevailed, the batsman would have walked. Andy
True if it was a one off “In the first Test in Perth, England wicketkeeper Smith was given out caught behind on review despite a spike coming after the ball had passed his bat and glove.” And let’s face it the Aussies have a bit of history when it comes to ahem cheating.
Of course it won’t matter one bit when the Aussies pass 400 tomorrow with their tail enders and we’re bowed out for sub 200.
This one is lost. We may have a chance in the following tests as the Aussies send out the B team while the A's celebrate yet another drubbing of the Poms. Over Christmas my aussie mrs will be intolerable when sports comes up. If Arsenal continue their wobble then that will shut her up.
Post #33. I could see the hammering coming a mile off. Won’t spoil my Christmas. I’m already stuck in a shithole many, many miles from home… Huzzah!!
Arsenal will always ‘bottle’ it, as night follows day all Arsenal fans know this, worked with an Arsenal fan for 5 years he always had a cloud handy for any Silver lining. You could always remind her of the 4-0 half time against Newcastle that ended with the Magpies being gifted a draw oh how I laughed at my work colleague whilst it was on the wireless set.
They don’t build’em like they used to. Beefy could manage a 6 day bender (+ more) and still walk out to batter the Aussies. We’re doomed as a nation LOL. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c5ydewwejnqo
“Only England” could put in the first decent bowing performance of the whole tour and completely fuck it up within the space of an hour shortly afterwards (even if there is more grass on that wicket than there is in my entire garden). I still don’t think this test is over though.
Say what you like about Botham, he was a better all round cricketer than any of the current crop of under performers and no hopers. Andy
he’s not a pleasant human being Andy and although this series has been an unmitigated disaster there are plenty of current cricketers the kids can take as an aspiration. Joe Root, number one batsman in the world right now as an example. You don’t have to be a prick and a great sportsman.
