Having had the (dis)pleasure of 2 I can say they have caused me the most stress out of any brand I’ve owned.
Can’t say I agree with this had two pretty faultless 899s and a 959. Defo more money than any other brand but that’s what we all sign up for right?
my 1098 s was pretty faultless but my 899's engine light came on yesterday then died on me shortly aftermate of mine picked me up in his van then when i got home i tried it and it fired up first time but the light is still on. not looking forward to finding out what thats gona cost.
no but i've been told there's a cable and free software you can get that will read fault codes, so maybe buy that then go from there.
Pardon me for being one who still has minimal experience of bikes with electronics rather than electrics (that made properly just worked), isn't this all, as it were, manufacturer's choice of peripherals?
Luxury! Try owning a Gas Gas dirt bike built (down to a price) 20 years ago by Spaniards working for a company that was on the verge of going bust, which has then been ridden harder than a blue eyed whore in a Tangiers brothel over the intervening two decades. It's what I call a "Stingray" bike because 'anything can happen in the next half hour'......
I may be cursed but 899 faults: Both rads failed due to cracking. NOT FOREIGN OBJECTS IMPACT. Rear cylinder cams & followers replaced due to failure of surface treatment of cams. Both MAP sensors failed. I fully understand this is not usual. Full Ducati service etc etc.
