  3. I realised yesterday that I'd not taken a photo of my Supersport where it "originally started" - when I got my original supersport I spent days cleaning it on the drive at my folks..
So, 33 years after my original supersport...

  7. So, back in 1992 I bought a white frame / white wheel 900ss with 600 miles on it, rode it less and less for a few years before selling it in 96 or 97 (I can't remember which) Had other bikes ending up with a honda black bird in 2007 - lovely bike, used it for touring, going to the UK on regularly etc etc. In 2021 I was exiting a very fast right hander (about 130mph) and realised that I couldn't really make out what was in a dark patch of road under some trees about 1/2 a mile ahead - and given that I'd be there in less than 15 seconds.... so my eye sight was no longer up to how fast I was riding the blackbird...
I decided to go back in time and started to look for a mid 90's 900ss.
I bought this one from Dartanion on here in September 21. it needed work but that was fine with me.
Carbs cleaned, shock rebuilt, single seat found, fairing repaired / sprayed, high level cans found / fitted, termis found / fitted / carbon fibre seat unit found / sprayed / fitted.
It still needs work - I want a full rebuild on the engine and the frame powder coating - maybe I can find the cash for that as a winter job :)

  10. Middle of December and 10c. Had to get out for a bit. Every ride is an occasion on the old girl . She can still draw attention and get a move on when the opportunity arises.

  12. Even when they were current you never saw many of the half faired SSs. YoM 2000 or before I’m guessing?

  13. 1999. It was a fully faired one before the restoration. :upyeah:

  14. ^appreciate it's not finished, will you be running it minus belt covers?

  15. Yeah, without the covers. Looks miles better imo and I wanted to make the engine front and centre as part of it's new 'look'. :upyeah:

  16. I managed to buy some ally belt covers from a member of this forum which finish the look of the engine. A shame that my full fairing then hides most of the covers.

The red wires that you can see are my addition of heavy duty battery cables running alongside the OE wiring from battery to solenoid and solenoid to starter motor to ensure all of the juice gets to the starter when you press the button.
