There must be a few car fans on here. The 2026 WRC season starts next week with the Monte Carlo rally. One week tomorrow (Thursday 22/1/26) 3pm on TNT. So much better than f1.
First snow of the rally on stage 2 right now (on the road and falling from the sky) . Unreal skills considering it’s in the pitch black too.
They’re literally skating round the mountainside at 30 kph in the dark lol. 17 minutes to do 22 km! Ogier “what a fucking shit tyre” Fourmaux “the most difficult stage I’ve ever raced in my life” Meanwhile Solberg beats Ogier by a minute and Elfyn by half a minute and more to lead the rally by 25 seconds.
Neuville “anyone else in the world it would have been cancelled I don’t know what the fucks going on, it’s so dangerous”. Everyone else please give me more.
Not sure if I’ve enjoyed this slow speed tippy toe rally as much as I thought I would. They do have a stage on the Monaco f1 track tmrw, apparently the first time since 2008 so that should be a little more up my strasse speed wise touch wood. Looks like Solbergs to lose at this point.
There’s a fella they’ve just interviewed who’s built a mini rally replica by 3d printing all the parts. 125 six speed two stroke engine. Reckons it hits150 kph haha
Absolutely no reason why they couldn’t hold f1 at night time in Monaco watching this. Might stand a chance of not being the most boring race on the calendar.
Oliver solberg wins the rally Monte Carlo in his first time out as a factory driver. (His Dad never won RMC). Pretty much led from start to finish. Chapeau. Elfyn secured second and Ogier 3rd for the Toyota one two three.
