999 999 Air Filter

  1. Anyone got a photo of stock 999 air filter?

    Want to check if I have stock or not.

  7. Thx guys. Just did not want to clean them to then find out they are not DP so need new one
     
  8. Just had a look at the air filter on my first 999s (2005) and can't see any sign of any foam, just a metal gauze! Is this "normal" or should I look to get some that include the foam (to keep out more small bits)?

  11. Whoops, there is supposed to be black foam between the metal cage and plastic lattice.

  12. Having read through this original thread I'm not sure that anyone was able to recommend which filters to use, any advice from someone would be appreciated?
     
  13. Whatever you end up with they are stupidly expensive for a service part, and not that easy to change when the captive nut inserts in the airbox start to spin.

    Any of the washable types are a cheaper option long term.
    Pipercross, TwinAir etc.

    I have to admit to having made my own using what you've got with the Foam from an old, I think RamAir, M900 panel filter cut and inserted in the gap and Oiled.
