Finally got out on the Honda, didn’t use it at all last year except for taking it to the mot. Did about 70 miles around the muddy back lanes of the Cotswolds, nice to be out on a big old thumper again.
Which model Honda is that Zeus or what did it start out as. Looks nice and great for what you used it for.
It’s a Fx650 Vigor (basically a Dominator) which I changed the tank, seat, headlight and a few other bits on it. I wanted a 70s style scrambler but with reliability.
How is it on the BOATS? I was out with a TRF group the other week and someone turned up on some sort of Ducati Scrambler but ended up having to be towed back to the tarmac after a couple of miles.
It’s actually surprisingly capable , better than me anyway. Never got stuck but the knobblies help with that.
I love my Scrambler, but it's no bike for off-road fun. For one the clearances are just not good enough. The Desert sled may be ok, but the Icon, Urban, etc., are not true off-road machines. Unsurfaced mountain roads around here, if it's dry, are fine, but real dirt tracks in the wet are not a good idea.
Yesterday Went with a mate to protwins in Godstone for the first time, he had an exhaust to pick up. What a lovely couple of guys that own it, took the time to chat bikes with a coffee for ages . Today livened up the neighbourhood this afternoon and had an hour out as the sun was out briefly and the roads 99.9% dry.
Judging by the picture, your Windows installation needs an upgrade. I am, unfortunately, here all week.
Been receiving parts all week for this months SXV failure. This weeks problem is the sprag clutch so now ive got all the stuff to change that out on saturday.... Red Loctite Gasket Sprag Bearing Oil filter strap for holding the flywheel Flywheel puller (SXV needs flat-ended one) well because it does doesnt it.
Off-road mate said that he's worried about engine noises when he gives it the beans. Ordered a load of just-in-case O-rings & gaskets so I can check the cam-chain tension. No parts in stock so I'll only be dismantling at the weekend...
