  3. I have indeed. My mot man did inform me that he is putting his prices up in Feb by a fiver to £25 though which is a blow.

  4. Nice
I already paid that amount for my MOTs last year. He's a little late in increasing his prices.

  5. Crikey, I'm absolutely amazed, indeed bemused that you have actually been able to do anything like that, in what does look like (apologies) a tip!........
Perhaps your next task will be to sort the 'dump' out, just saying :astonished::eek::mask:

  8. 20260124_123956.jpg Swapped over the belly pan on the Mutley for the one it should really of had from the factory (Imho)
Decided not to try painting the original, then getting needlessly cross when it chips really easily..
Very happy with such a simple mod.

  9. 20260124_122701.jpg Sxv sprag went kind of ok...bad news....two countersunk allen key bolts of 6 rounded...had to drill out the heads....and then just or good measure i then had to drill through them both to collapse the rest of the bolts - pain in the arse but i managed to retain the original threads.....bolts on the way so ill have to finish up next week...

  10. so being a twat, i bought a 1997 monster back in October as a temporary ride while my 899 has the engine rebuilt. (they have the parts at last)

as i didn't test ride it i had no idea what to expect, and put the slow speed and cack throttle response down to 1997 carburettor technology.

turns out the choke cable was snapped and stuck in the full on position, i was having a go at sorting the starting issues as i'd sold it and stumbled on that.

after clamping it in the open position i cant believe the difference, what a great bike, theres definitely some V2 DNA thats carried on into the 899, the over run, rev matching, induction noise, in some ways it feels very similar.

had a great time up at 60 to 80 (KMH obvs) going up and down the gears, so much so i blew the poor buyer out so i could keep it a bit longer

  11. Taken all the non standard bodywork off my 1098 in preparation for returning it to standard.

  12. Yesterday. Test ride on a new multistrada V2 . I've only ever had sports bikes or naked bikes in 30 odd years so it seemed strange having so much bike in front of me. I quite liked it , comfy, great engine etc .
Apart from the price my only issue is a mental one. At 52 years young , is it "giving up" too early? By buying that type of bike ? .

  13. Yes

  15. I don't think so. Upright adventure style bikes these days can perfrom as well as sports bikes and nakeds in real-life road situations.
I greatly prefer my KTM 1190 where I live to the Superduke I used to have as it has more compliant suspension so it's actually faster over our local roads which are challengingly twisty but also very bumpy.

Edit: actually my 1260 Diavel is a brilliant compromise. It'll charge as hard a supernaked and flicks about just as well as the KTM, but is also very comfortable and it is happy for you to thump along enjoying the grunt and the sound when you feel like it without begging to have its neck wrung all the time. Won't necessarily save your license though..

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  16. I'll hopefully still keep hold of my 900 superlight so I can still be young and cool
