People who begin sentences with So. If you’re just stalling for time just fucking pause before saying what you want to say. Mostly a young person’s habit but it’s so fucking irritating !!
Adverts that start with "(so) here we offer" or "(so) here we have for sale" Introductory social-media posts that start "I'm Fred/Helen/whoever and here's a photo I took" posts that start with POV
Generally people banging their gums because they like making a noise but don't really have anything to say and wouldn't haven't the vocabulary to express it if they did.
Saying "so" is just a nuance of language, maybe to signify the end or conclusion of other topics & issues discussed immediately before. It also adds emphasis. If this makes you angry, you are probably in for a life packed with irritability. Relax and enjoy the things in life you like? I think the expression is "Don't sweat the small stuff" and this could hardly be bettered as an example. LOL. Have a nice day!
Currently in an online webinar at work, which is being delivered by some rather young new colleagues (grads? apprentices?). So far, we've had an intro with a rap soundtrack, the phrase, 'commonly asked FAQs' and a chap whose every other word is punctuated by 'kind-of'. EDIT - not colleagues, they work for Microsoft!
TAILGATERS!!! - had one today, the "driver" quickly slotted in behind me, after leaving a school with daughter in passenger seat. Nearly hit me as i stopped for a parked car on my side of the road - obviously itching to get home but surely would be better not to test the airbags on route?? I wasn't going to resort to childish behaviour and drive really slowly, but these people cause accidents - while driving with this car in tow i am aware that i can't do an emergency stop because they will hit me - could do without the stress..
On the same theme car window stickers “the closer you get the slower I go” Ugh And my personal favourite “baby on board” Yeh well done you’ve managed to procreate like no one ever has before. No one’s arsed. Just get a wriggle on.
thing is, that ultimately, unless it's changed, the Highway Code does advise you to drive slower "if you percieve an escalating problem" or similar wording, and i hope this is still in place, because it's the only logically safe thing to do in some circumstances.
I get the frustration from both sides there’s some angry idiots out there (hiya beemer drivers). However we have a single lane road out of our village and I’ve seen old dears holding up tractors in a 40 (might even have been a Hyundai i10 lolz). I couldn’t be sure but doesn’t the Highway Code say something like drive according to the speed limit when it’s safe to do so? Fairly sure I remember that in my test. Ie you can fail for driving too slow?
