Sorry, I've tried but... The Supersports are grossly underrated bikes, even the carb ones, but pretty it is not! Sat on it, it's much better though!!!
This is in fact true, I’ve seen a painting of her popping a wheelie It’s on permanent display at the Prado in Madrid.
Sticking with Ducati comparisons - As a reasonably long term owner a ‘93 900ss and an ie built in 2002, registered 2007, both bikes much loved, my view is that they are both pretty flawed aesthetically, as there are lots of “wrong” angles to view them from which make the older bikes fairing look very slab sided and the newer one look like it is wearing a tie and a belt both done up far too tight. From the right angles they are both good lookers, and indisputably Ducati / Italian, but neither have the still stunning “masterpiece from any angle” of a 916, or the hard chiselled functional lines of an 888.
Anyway, my views are so far from the majority I'm beginning to wonder if I'm brain damaged. For instance, Jimmy Carr has never even made me smile let alone actually laugh (I do want to hit the smarmy fucker, but I'm not sure that's his fault).
Well, I give up for the time being. I found one - not Chinese. Ducati Aprilia Kämna - German by the looks of it. And not only the obvious difference in that Chinese is cheap while German is expensive... the headlight cutouts are as per the 999... ?
The oem half fairing do come upi reasonably regularly here in France if you are interested: www.leboncoin.fr Search for: demi carenage Ducati https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/equipement_moto/3132451032 (I payed an absolute fraction what this guy's looking for...something in the order of 50€ per side)
