So what have you done today..?

  1. Bit of an unusual start to the day
Pre breakfast I was called out to help with what was suspected to a difficult birth of a calf. Turned out all was ok and the wee one was born naturally.
For a city lad it was fantastic to witness.

  2. There will definitely be 47 people in the world with enough money and with sufficient deficiency in taste and decency to want to buy one. Tbh, you could probably find more than 47 of them just by searching for the hashtag #dubai on instagram.

  4. do you think that they are trying a "Ducati Lamborghini" ? They only have to sell one to some rich, possibly misguided person instead of 3 to ordinary folk.

  5. I don’t think I’d be qualified enough to be at the business end of things.
The calf will be up on her feet, if not now very soon.

  6. saw one by accident last year, we were in three Land Rovers, and the leading vehicle stopped briefly to look (was only a few yards away from the birthing) which was inappropriate with the engine noise, but I wasn't going to overtake as it was my boss.

  7. Would it surprise anyone to know that I have bought concert tickets? And tickets for Cirque du Soleil.

  11. Van passed Mot for a change today and it rewarded me by the alternator packing in straight afterwards.

  14. I have had to put filament bulbs back into a car's headlamps, because the MOT place won't pass it with the LEDs in.

  15. Messed up the beam pattern I guess?

  16. Replacing filament bulbs with LEDs is technically illegal. But the previous MOT place never worried about it.

  17. Probably explains why there are a large number of vehicles being used with headlights that dazzle at night....

  18. Matrix headlights. I hate having a car behind me at night that's got them. They continually hunt around for optimum beam placement. It's like the driver is constantly flashing their lights. By the time they've registered a vehicle in front and adjusted you're already blinded. Same with auto-dip. Nine times out of ten you can see an oncoming vehicle round a bend or over a brow of a hill in advance by the light flare. Just use the bloody stalk and dip before the two vehicles are blasting each other full in the face.

  19. Thats because you will be blinding all the oncoming traffic. Osram Nightbreakers are good old school bulbs and will probably resolve this for you.

  20. I thought about putting them in my Landrover as the stock bulbs are pretty poor. But the bloke in the motorfactors said they can melt the lamp unit, they cost three time the price of stock bulbs and have about a third of the lifespan. I decided to stick with standard Lucas Prince of Darkness candles and just drive slower in the dark.
Not necessarily the case with all cars, of course, but apparently not suited to Freelanders. Best to check before buying.
