Why not just carry an AR15 on a sling while wearing body armour and a kevlar helmet equipped with night vision optics? Many Americans would consider themselves underdressed otherwise. I'm follow a few preppers accounts on social media and Septics are forever asking people to assess their EDC (everyday carry) kit. A British prepper might carry a Leatherman, a spare phone battery and a couple of Kit Kats, whereas a Yank will have at least one firearm, several loaded magazines, a large hunting knife and a battlefield first aid kit.
It’s beyond bizarre among some yanks. I’ve spent a bit of time in the US doing some technical training. I sometimes wonder how America doesn’t sink into the ocean under the weight of guns and ammo. I’d definitely own a gun or two if I was permitted. I do find them mildly fascinating. But I certainly wouldn’t have an armoury capable of spearheading an African coup. Some peoples (and its women too) gun cabinets in America are absolutely bonkers.
