Ive just arrived in Thailand from Malaysia, and I can report there is absolutely no rain here.... But if it helps the beer is cold and wet !!
I would keep that under your hat Jez, you're gonna be hit with a deluge of holiday makers after reading that
Went into work yesterday, got the Landrover stuck and when I finally got it extracted after barely an hours work a massive thorn went into my knee and I could hardly walk. Supposed to be working today to try and make up for the endless rain stoppages. This morning a watery sun has made an appearance for the first time on about two months, my knee is worse and I can't bend my leg. What's the betting the dry weather will last just until my knee gets better... Nature seems determined to bankrupt me.
Ringing the surgery in the morning. Hope they'll be more help than last time though. Last year I cut the back of my leg open when I knocked an axe out of the fencepost I had it wedged into and the blade (shave sharp) struck the back of my calf as it fell. Rang my GP surgery and they said, we can't do stitches, go to Shotley Hospital. What about my tetinus? They can check that there. Went to Shotley Hospital and they said, you should have gone to your GP. What about my tetinus? Oh you'll be fine... I am a little concerned. Got no sign of infection, not even any swelling. Thorn is no longer in my knee and there's nothing to see but a pin prick yet it's very painful and I can barely walk on it.
If it were me I’d demand a booster from GP/walk in centre. Don’t muck about with stuff like that. Seriously, don’t take the risk.
I thought stormy weather would be good for roofers because although you can’t work while it’s pissing it down, the phone must be blowing up with all the people who need leaks repairing?
it all gets backed up, people can get a little frustrated and think you've forgotten about them, blokes that work for me want to go to work and you have to make a call on weather apps and the forecast at 630 am, when its pitch black. worst is when it stops after raining all night and you have to work on a wet roof, you get covered in wet shite, its slippery
it's been dry here for over a week. last Saturday me and a mate sat out at my firepit until three in the morning getting bladdered. in 5-8 weeks it's going to be scortchio. wall to wall blue for 10 weeks.
Prompted by this thread, rather than waiting till tomorrow when my GP surgery opens I rang 111 this morning and explained, citing concerns about my tetinus statues. They looked at my records and booked me an apointment for 13.45 this afternoon at the local community hospital. It turns out I haven't haven't had a jab since 1977. Jabbed up for life now with a course of antibiotics to start tomorrow morning. I must have a superpower immune system because I've worked in construction and agriculture all my life and I've taken enough chunks out of myself over the last 50 years to fill several accident books.
GenX, mate. Raised on hose water and neglect. I’m the same. I never get ill. My earliest memory is eating mud and wood lice in the garden.
