Got a car puncture "right at the wrong time" while waiting for bike to be sold. Frown turned upside down when discovered (forgotten or just never realised) that factory spare was a brand-new, full size/full rating Michelin albeit on a steel rim. Swapped it with no drama, and straight back to the plot. Icing on the cake is that the new owners were the nicest couple you could wish to meet.

Drove to the centre of London for a 45 minute site inspection as part of a massive infrastructure project. 7 hours on the road….. First 145 miles took me 2.5hours (including rush hour M40), last 6 was another hour. Similar on way back. How anyone can live in London is beyond me. It would do my head in long term.
Replaced the blown light bulb in my fridge …….. and that’s been the sum of it. Still, a much busier day awaits tomorrow, a visit to the opticians for my 2 yearly eye test, then the surgery for yet another blood test and finally, helping a mate to assemble new pistons and wrist pins to con rods, because I’ve got an hydraulic press Andy
Apparently not based on the number of cars on the road. Total car park. I am sure many do use public transport (also horrifically overcrowded from previous experience). Must be a totally different mentality, whole place stank of exhaust fumes, barely a tree of green space for miles. Location we went to south of the River near Battersea was a total hole. I haven’t lived lived in a big city since moving back from the Netherlands and couldn’t live in London. My work also takes into Birmingham regularly, and that has improved massively over the last ten years. London seems to have gone the other way (transport wise).
Whenever they go out to do their business they'll come back in with a mouthful of vegetation (unspecified) and/or gravel.
If you feel strange jabbing pains, that will be Mrs. GG sticking pins in an effigy of you as she is a born & bred Battersea girl, as was my Mum. Be interested to know exactly where you went in Battersea, as there are more than enough trees and greenery in Battersea for most people in Battersea Park which is just south of the river, and there are some fantastic properties south of the park between Prince of Wales Drive & Battersea Park Road. Battersea does have some less attractive areas and I wouldn't want to live there now because of the parking situation, but there are plenty worse places in London. Public Transport is fine if you don't use it in commuter hours.
