Return Of The 750/900ss?

  1. I wonder if Gibson will do a limited numbered Les Paul to go with it

  2. I don’t understand the comments here…

I will not be buying one of these, as I do not care anymore for brand new bikes. Warranty constraints, money loss as soon as you hit the road, not my stuff anymore.

Still, I like what Ducati has to offer with these (neo) retro looking bikes. They try to keep older customers into the game. The same that constantly complain about the loss of the tubular frame, of the good old twin, who dislike all the aero appendices…

What is it you guys need, to like a Ducati today? You may not want want one, but relax and enjoy the show, for God’s sake…

  3. They can't even make a decent video about it! why all the one second shots that portray nothing (to an old git that is) yeah, yeah, I know all the producers do the same makes it exciting doesn't it?:punch:

  4. You know what happens when you stick your head above the parapet. I with you on the above comments.

  5. It appears that some think the show is a farce and others think its a drama... And lets face it, if we all know that the people this bike is aimed at want a tubular frame, why doesn't it have one?

  6. This "tribute" bike is most definitely not aimed keeping the older customer engaged with the brand. I am that older customer and I bought this,

Something that's fun to ride and that I don't have to worry about riding in all weathers. Andy

  7. Only about £7k over priced

  8. Totally agree with this sentiment.

Ducati owners seem increasingly a miserable bunch of old feckers who forget that the World does not just revolve around them.

  9. The only bikes you can buy new these days that are well under £10k are built in either China or India.

  11. Personally I'd take a Streetfighter, Monster or Multistrada V2 for similar money over that. To my eye it looks hideous; a disjointed, ugly part-bin special that is not a patch on the beauty of the original. Frankly, it looks like it has been designed by the local primary school class.

I think this BMW looks closer to a 900SS than Ducati's latest offering and I'd take that over the Ducati. I thought the German designs were supposed to be soulless & functional; this has got much more soul as a tribute to the R90S that this new Ducati has to the 900SS.

And I'm totally relaxed about it.

  12. Just me that likes it then :joy: I do agree it’s another parts bin limited edition/ special though and I wouldn’t buy one but then I won’t ever be able to afford a new bike again now.

  14. Will/has the Ducati bubble burst?

There seems to be too many “special edition” models that are not special nowadays.

  15. I think there is a problem that all traditional manufacturers will/aready have to face and that is the new Indian and Chinese built bikes, that are not only very good in most cases but also undercut the big names by a considerable margin.

  16. Ducati (because of Audi) have got themselves in a pickle.................they still want to be an "exclusive, premium" brand yet want volume. You can't have both.

  17. Thats a fair point.

I doubt without Audi money though that Ducati would even exist now or at least would be Chinese owned.

  18. Mercedes is an exclusive premium brand which also has volume.

  19. This formula 73 is such a disappointment. They could easily have given it rounded engine covers, a tubular swinging arm, lower exhaust routing. and better mudguard. Made more of the scalloped side panels( nice try). fairing front is awful.

Would not have been too much trouble to really capitalise on the look of the green frame.

Hey ho. I will have to wait for the 200th anniversary model

  20. It's not that exclusive anymore. Introduction of smaller models like the GLA saw to that.
