There are a range of cheap overnight tariffs, I am on an old one that gives 5 hours at 7p a KW. Full charge on mine is a little over £5 for 300 miles. Work electric mileage is 21p a mile, so make £56 every full cycle. Last month I did 2000 work miles so car paid for itself and I drive personal miles for free. Occasionally I have to use motorway chargers at 90p a kilowatt, but only ever put just enough in and usually worst case is a city charge at 40p a kilowatt. Car is averaging 3.6m/kw winter and around 4 in summer. I can get approx 40% charge on the cheap rate every night. It’s two years old now and the newer EVs are far better, the rate of improvement is massive and the Chinese makers are at the front of the curve. The casual racism of some, as seen in a few comments on here, would have people believe that all Chinese products are rubbish but the reality is they were already making massive amounts of parts for established brands for years. Or that in some way It’s all a secret plan to listen in on people. Those same people have a phone, but that is obviously ok (and probably made in China). I don’t know a single person with a Chinese EV that slags it off, tbh the only makes I hear moans about are vw (ID4 is awful), older mini EVs and jag ev/ hybrids.

I think the evidence proves otherwise, and is there for anyone to see, not surprised at the abusive response. I expected nothing more And also here to stay are Chinese cars whether you like it or not. Latest figures released today show market share has doubled in a year. I’m surprised Itks that low as I see so many more now than a year ago. I would have guessed more like 5x increase.
TBH the way rachel reevs had a go at working man, we all be driving Chinese cars soon. hope not but heading that way!
