Hi @Snaps. Thanks for your comments. I wouldn’t disagree, mileage is certainly a factor, but personally, I always favor a bike with appropriate mileage for the bike’s age that has been increased evenly each year over the life of the engine, and one which has a good service history with low owners. Low mileage doesn’t always mean better. The 998S was the last generation of the 916 series and any engine (or electrical) issues were pretty much ironed out by 2002 making it a very reliable classic, even with fair miles. If looked after properly these bikes are pretty bulletproof. Just my opinion of course, which I guess is why I bought the bike. Folks, we are all entitled to our opinion, but please, I’d appreciate it if this particular comment/response on this thread doesn’t turn into a thread of its own. Please PM me with any offers. Thank you
Oh dear, C&C is correct - I was sure it was somewhere between 27,000 and 28,000 when I posted the advert here. Apologies, I did go and check the clock when I posted the advert on C&C. Forgot to change it. To be clear - it’s 34,700 miles. I may as well take it down given the roasting I’m about to get :-(
