  1. Blacked out windows too. Proper gentlemen

  2. Source: CarWow and Data based on early 2026 year-to-date (YTD) figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) as reported in March 2026

As of early 2026, the Ford Puma has continued its reign as the UK's best-selling car, leading the market with over 6,900 registrations in the first two months. The Kia Sportage remains its closest competitor in second place, while the newly introduced Jaecoo 7 has surprisingly broken into the top three most popular models, highlighting a rise in competition.

Top Selling Cars in the UK (Jan-Feb 2026 YTD):
    • 1. Ford Puma (6,935): Maintains the top spot, bolstered by strong sales of its hybrid and electric variants.
    • 2. Kia Sportage (6,880): Strong contender, close behind the Puma, favored for its range of hybrid options.
    • 3. Jaecoo 7 (5,505): A new Chinese SUV that has made an immediate, significant impact in the market.
    • 4. Vauxhall Corsa (4,237): Continues to be a popular choice in the supermini segment.
    • 5. Nissan Qashqai (approx. 2,995): Remains a staple in the top 10 as a popular family SUV.

  3. I wouldn’t drive any of those without a balaclava… My mum’s got a Quashqai and I sometimes have to shift it around for her. But I wait until it’s dark.

  8. Yep enough to buy a very similar car to the RR in design (and far superior in tech/fitment) and for half the price :upyeah:

  9. Are you affected by the recent recall about a chafing wiring loom clip ? Andy

  10. Nope. It's just the 1.6 petrol version

  11. Warning, I'm going to express an opinion which some won't agree with.
    But it's mine from experiance.

Have you owned and driven any Range Rover any distance? I've had a few over the years, and yes they've been reliable enough for me.

I've also had 3 Jaecoos as hire cars for work over the last 6 months or so and have now given up my right to a hire car as I'd rather do any distance runs in my 11yr old top of the range Discovery, which is a much better place to spend time and in my opinion is a better driving experiance.

I'd chose a used £35k 2018MY Range Rover over a new Jaecoo every time.
    Sorry.

  12. Fair enough :)

  13. at the risk of being controversial, from around 2016-17 on and living in a rural area, i've got a hell of a lot of customers that say "never again" when it come to Land rover. from the litle vouges to the overfinch tho, i have got at least two that did and regret it.
they all go wrong sir. when a 25k car goes down with repeated faults and recalls it's a bit of a pisser. when a 50k+ car goes down with the same issues year in year out with the same issues carried over to newer upgraded models.
    well...

  14. The trick is not to buy a new one, not only do you not pay the stupid first 2-3yr depreciation, but most of what's going to go wrong has already happened and you're left with wear and tear.

I've done hundreds of thousands of miles in various Land Rovers over the last 30yrs or so, and been very happy with the service they've given despite the hard life they've had.
But have never brought a new one.

  15. yip, as i have said to countless customers, dont ask me to recommend cars based on reliability. they all go wrong and i will only remember the bad ones. in a rural area with a lot of 4x4's all i want to convey is, that i will be taking none of yer pish when it comes to maintenance and repair costs.
landrover? pish. CRV's? pish, HighLux? pish. XTrail? pish L200s and Shoguns? pish. Rangers and Amorok's? Pish
    panda 4x4? awesome.
    chortle.

  16. I know this is a Jaecoo thread, but as reliable Land Rovers are mentioned, I would just like to say one word.
    Ingenium.

  17. Not really a fan of either being discussed here but a quick search on ingenium engine you refer to throws up this;
Reliability Issues: Early 2.0L diesel Ingenium engines are known for specific, sometimes catastrophic failures, including stretched timing chains, oil dilution, and turbocharger failure.
Maintenance: Regular, high-quality oil changes are critical to managing oil dilution

  18. K series engine in earlier models. Rear Difs in later. Hydraulic Pipes that rot out withing 8years that require the body to be lifted off the chassis to replace. general servicing costs. heath Robison wiring. collapsed lower vertebrae, reoccurring tinnitus and carbon monoxide poisoning due to over use of earlier models ect.
    Pish.
    but they all are.

  19. My wife has one, 9 years old and owned from new. I change oil on it every 3000 miles regardless of what the display says. Prevention hopefully.

  20. other than that. i love em.
    chortle.
