Can't comment for the whole country, but around here you've got to have your eyes peeled for potholes that would have you off, so as Anthony said, a fast ride out is not what it was and getting home in one piece is the main consideration, particularly in the dark. I bet we can all recall riders who were always faster than everyone else, but l can think of several who suddenly disappeared or had a "big one".
