Please can anyone recommend wireless earphones that are suitable for wearing under a helmet? My Apple Air Pods are the sort which kind of hang from rather than fit into the ear canal so they get dislodged and/or are pretty painful when I’m wearing a helmet and those in-helmet speaker systems are no good for me as I’ve got half a dozen lids. Thanks.
I have both Bluetooth and wired Ultimate ear and are both great but spendy, downside is the Bluetooth does not connect to Cardo
Thanks. I’m wary of anything expensive as I have found a lot of earphones to be very middy and/or not loud enough (I’m hard of hearing so that’s a dealbreaker), even reputable brands (eg: JBL) and they’re not really the sort of item you can try before you buy.
As an aside, if you are touring in Europe, the use of wired or Bluetooth in-ear buds has recently been made illegal in Spain. Andy
These keep popping up on my IG https://arteviveearplugs.com/products/bluetooth-moto-earbuds Have not tried them, did not like the plugs wehen i tried thoes
Ultimate Ear for best quality sound & very loud because the kit is uber expensive as mentioned. https://ultimateear.com/product-category/motorcycle-ear-plugs/?orderby=price-desc They actually do a bluetooth version but I've got the SoundEar pro versions, couple of them before going the big bucks.
Yes, I keep seeing those in my FYP too, but the fact that they only seem to be marketed on IG makes me a bit wary. They’re also an American company with no UK presence so if they’re no good then I’m pretty much stuck with them.
I found a Reddit thread where someone gave a good report on these, so leaving aside my misgivings on account of him being a Harley rider, at 30 quids I’m willing to risk it for a biscuit. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0...&pd_rd_r=0c154b3b-11a8-4ef2-8c2a-3dea81d41c19
I sourced some small wired ear buds. Then made them into moulded monitor earphones by using moulding silicone. They sat perfectly in my ears, there was no pressure on them from my helmet and they acted as ear plugs. Then plugged them into an external Bluetooth receiver but also had the option the plug the jack into devices. You need an assistant to do the application of the moulding silicone. The ear buds were Panasonic and similar to these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XG1LNL5/ref=twister_B07C3VWL7C?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 you remove the ear bud bits as they are not needed. Got the moulding silicone off ebay.
Do you find the Soundear pro cut out too much noise? I found I had to take my helmet off and remove them just to have a conversation (not always such a bad thing!).
I've got some Cambridge audio melomania in ear Bluetooth earphones which are amazing quality, loud when you need them to be and actually stay in your ear while riding. Only downside is that they are a faff when taking your helmet on/off.
