Rubbish. The Crusades were a papal decision to try and reclaim the supposed Holy lands based on a nonsense fairy story over 1000 years earlier. Ultimately they turned on all non Christian believers.

The First Crusade was proclaimed by Pope Urban II at the Council of Clermont in November 1095. The aim was to take control of Jerusalem. There were a further 6 Crusades which ranged throughout the entire area including Egypt. The aims switched over time with the crusading movement expanding into to campaigns against pagans, Christian dissidents, and other enemies of the papacy, promoted with spiritual rewards and continuing into the 18th century. So I get it that you don't like history or maybe you had a crap teacher so you learnt nothing about it? But thats no excuse for making huge generalisations these days (at least three today in this thread!)- use Goggle or you preferred search engine and get with the plan?

More like most years! And the best of it is the claim its about the Jewish right to live there (Canaan/ Judah) as the preeminent group based upon ancient stories. The same ancient stories that detail the other groups who lived there too. Then compound that with the undeniable fact that most Israelis have less bloodline connection to the ancient peoples than they do to Europeans - Netanyahu is of Polish & American descent. Not that I care where anyone is from, nor what spiritual ideology floats their boat. Until they make massive claims based on genealogy which is easily proven to not support their own argument.
They only people likely to have true genealogy leading back to their current home are Africans. The rest of the world are all immigrants at some point in their family tree.
Yeah, everyone should visit some of the museums and memorials in Germany. The Topography of Terror (Berlin) should be essential viewing for everyone... it would certainly add a perspective as to what is currently afoot.
