you’ll know if it’s had the remap as it will say EVO under the riding mode. The official remap not only remaps the fuelling but also all the rider aids/traction controls and rider/engine interface.
Im out on mine at present so ran through some tests. At 2000 rpm in 3rd I’m doing 30kmh/20mph, smooth as anything. In 4th at 2000rpm its 37kmh still smooth but obviously labours a bit at first when you open the throttle. In 2nd its doing 23kmh still as smooth as anything. Thst was in all modes except Sport (I think it’s called Race on yours) when it was a bit jerky but thats simply because the throttle response between right hand and throttle valves is so direct that every single undulation in the road causes it to jerk. In fact our roads around here are, on the whole, so un smooth I don’t use Sport, just use Touring but have set the engine at full power rather than the reduced 135bhp it’s at by default. ps I don’t have a throttle space fitted, never felt the need.
Useful stuff, thanks. So it has been remapped because it definitely comes up as Evo. I was surprised that touring came up as Evo. I’ll fit the throttle gizmo anyway and adjust the chain, then go from there. Thanks again.
Standard V4 Pikes Peak with no issues in that speed area. Nothing. Came from a 2015 Monster 1200S ... that was buckling like mad. Not the PP. Have you tried ACC? Is that the same? Might give you an idea Where to search
The Adaptive Cruise control is not the problem, I wasn’t using it at the time. Resetting everything to factory settings might be worth a check though as long as it doesn’t reset the mapping for the Akra exhaust.
Oh ok, what do you mean by buckle? Whatever you mean it’s fine when it’s running on ACC because I only use that at speed. The problems arise when attempting to pootle along at a steady 20-30. Thinking it through maybe you mean like a bucking bronco? Which it does at slow speeds but not above let’s say 50 ish.
Sometimes you may find the problem is where the fuelling cuts back in on a closed throttle. This is usually 3-4k so when you are using tiny throttle movements around this point then the fuelling is on and off. My streetfighter has the same problem even with the ducati map on, as overrun cutoff is still active. One day I will get round to mapping this out
What my thought is, do you see your issue when using ACC at the speed you mentioned? When no, you probably have an issue in the area of throttle and connection down to the Injection. If you see the same problems, the reason is probably not the throttle. ( the reason for the bad wording is somewhere between my English and iphone autocorrection, sorry)
