Ha Ha. Bit of each. Its allowed to live in the kitchen during the winter (we have plagues of mice). I remove the fairings etc to make it easier to get out. Unfortunately I can't get away with "kitchen servicing!"
Rebuilt this in my living room, my 916 is hiding behind the settee Oh, and my wife is sat on the settee, hidden by the fuel tank
I was finally able to go for my first 916 ride of the year today. Perfect weather. This bike is absolutely fabulous…
Lee who owns Moto Technica dropped this off for me on Friday. He’s done an amazing job recommissioning and restoring it whilst trying to maintain its originality. It’s only been a 30 year wait for my dream bike.
Very nice. I know I'm a bit biased? But I really like the minimalist design of the 1998s with their lack of "sticker bling"
Well, it has been a while since I have had a Ducati, yet I have owned a 749s, 1098s and 848 Triclore Special and loved them all. Although I have not been too active on the forum, more of an observer as beating the Big C took longer than expected, so as a reward I treated myself to a lush 748B with a Mono conversion. Had a cracking ride out the other week, as I've only managed a couple since getting him in Oct last year. Man I forget how great these 'analogue' bikes are, they just fit and ride as I remember and actually suit the busier and badly maintained roads we all love, well certainly down here in Cornwall anyhow. The feeling and feedback you get is just wonderful, it builds confidence in how you ride in my view too. Of course being an 88' bike you have to learn how it likes to work, yet the chap who I got it from kept it so well maintained and serviced and the chap before him had a full rest done on it, so it is a rather good one. Just debating if I can keep it now, as the 'new me' is not as strong/ fit as my memory says I was
Sure you can. Bike looks great and you have the UKs best weather. I'm 62 and still get on ok! And I am certainly not the only member on here with a bus pass..!!
Maybe don't rush into a decision while you debate. After all if you can't ride a Ducati you can always gaze at the fantastic piece of art, that it is..!! Good luck with everything.
