Hi So fitted the LHS and RHS Blocks Total Ducati Price £10.90 Inc VAT Part Numbers 96711901AA and 96711911AA Significantly reduces the rattle and noise from the mechanism (No Panniers) THANKS for the heads Up Andy.
So you just run it with the std exhaust setup - how do you find the running etc and has it got better? Reason I ask is I might buy another RS with the std exhaust
Yep standard exhaust, but I got the BHP remap, which has made a big difference. I try not to look at the standard exhaust though, as it looks awful.
I've never bothered @Mark Arnold or with remap (on either Rs I've had) and never had an issue as standard. Pays your money......
Not had an RS but mapped most of my V4 multis . Did have the race with the Evo map but for reasons decided to go for the standard bike with a remap , great, all the power without the noise and worries . Got the M1000xr now and gone the same way , standard but mapped . Works great and sorts the E restrictions out . It’s not about the power but having a map that works well at lower throttle , most bike especially BMWs always work well on fueling at 100% throttle so tuning the lower range is better . With 200 bhp it’s nice to have linear power without the restricted map from Brussels
You take your chances , but with a well fuelled bike all will be fine . Restricted bikes do run very lean to keep the greens happy lol . The remap route is a good way the get the best out of your bike and get it to run how the engine needs to . A flashers allows you to set back to standard map when service etc . An engine failure is normally due to part failure rather than good fueling . Last 2 of my GS fails were cam related .
BHP UK , used them on most bikes , great results. They have either loan bikes to extensively or purchase their own to tune and test . They did have in their fleet the V4s / PP and the RS so they can make sure the tune works for different set ups , ie filters , ,headers and ensure the bike works at different throttle openings ( not just 100%) they are a well established and trusted team . BT Moto from the US is another good tune , used them once on my first V4s . and had similar results to BHP uk . Decided to support the UK company as chatted with them at the NEC. BSD another good tune , but written direct to the bike on the ECU , personally better for race set ups as more dedicated to max power etc. Had them tune my R1 track bike , again great results on track but not used on the road so cant comment as throttle closer to 100% , lot higher than road use. I find the BHP tune makes the bike smooth , better power delivery from low to high throttle and put the power where I feel I want it. Its not about how much you have its how its spread out in the rev range to give best torque and power , not just cafe brag rights to big numbers , better fuelling better bike.
to be honest, I'm so used to how Ducatis ride and the low speed/town riding that doesn't really bother me anymore. have toyed every time with full systems, remaps, the lot but have never bitten the bullet.....unless whatever i bought already had it fitted (like the SP2 last year that i then wrote off ) Aren't you round corner from me so welcome to try the RS without system/remap as dealers won't have one you can 'borrow'
Hi Fraser, that would be great I only need a couple of miles to make my mind up I'm in Stowmarket? Not sure where you are?
ditto. tried to message you but it wouldn't let me - bit weird as you're not a new member. drop me an email on [email protected] cheers
