IIRC it was @Jez900ie that put up a quote in response to another one of my concert ticket purchases, along the lines of 'Never regret money spent on holidays or concert tickets; regret getting to retirement and realising the only place you ever went was work'. Your trip is a holiday; please see above quote and act upon it
My niece is doing a marathon sometime in the near future (no idea when) and one of the things she was doing to raise sponsorship was to raffle off a prize of two tickets for a spa day for a tenner a ticket........so being a loving uncle, but a tight arse, I bought just the one ticket. And I've just found out that I've won the prize. Huzzah!
Having interesting conversations with an eBay seller over a vintage Omega watch I recently purchased. A damaged strap and it not keeping accurate time isn’t quite how I’d describe near mint condition.
I've never had an issue getting eBay to refund "oversold" items. I hope you find the same. I got a smart watch and all my others are now ignored.
Omega seamaster Geneva Automatic, 1967, stainless steel with a light blue dial. It’s very attractive piece, bought as a forthcoming birthday gift for my wife.
I’m trying the negotiation path firstly. Sending it back will mean I’ll have to re think the gift option and it’s taken quite a while to find this one.
It sounds really lovely and I'm sure she will enjoy it very much. I agree that negotiation is the best place to start but as Jez said, eBay are actually very good. If you haven't already I would certainly recommend notifying eBay straight away that a potential dispute has arisen because they like to be kept in the loop and the seller will realise you are being serious. Did it come with Box and Papers?
Remember that an ebay dispute process takes 2 weeks to conclude from opening a case, so if you have a deadline it can be important to open a case early. You can always end the dispute before it comes to a conclusion. Again, goodluck.
I’ve given the seller the option to make me a financial settlement to part cover the cost of a service and strap repair, they have already suggested a part refund of $100 In the meantime I’ve found an authorised Omega dealer/ repair company close to where I live in Manchester who I’ll approach for an estimate for the work. I bought it from a seemingly reputable dealer with good feedback from Japan, the time zones make it difficult for an immediate response (no box or papers)! I will escalate this next week if I don’t get a positive response Top tips lads, thanks.
The problem is just in the one side where the flexible strap meets with the fixed links. Looking closely you can see where someone has tried to crimp the edge in order to stop it moving. This didn’t work. Described as near mint!
My local licensed Omega store sent mine off to the main Eastleigh center. I think most of them do? https://www.omegawatches.com/en-gb/store/storedetails/2054383
https://share.google/9w4xXmTt2bx9AklUl Was thinking more along these lines given the watch’s age, value and the company’s locality
