  1. It'll be likely that the seller is using a translating app which throws up strap as the translation.

  2. Almost spooky:astonished: I was only talking to the Eastleigh repair centre myself not two days ago. They advised 18 weeks turn around though which was a bit of a shock.

  3. Eighteen weeks? Thats longer than getting a cure for the clap!

  5. I’ve done this, FFS :triumph:

    Long story short - I clipped a dwarf wall with the trailer recently and it cracked a weld. I was on my way to have the Beta MOT’d and for the guy to repair the weld but didn’t even get out of the village allotment car park (thankfully). It doesn’t bear thinking about if that had happened on the NSL dual carriageway I would have been driving along 2 minutes later…

  8. not so much today, but yesterday evening, nearly leading in to today was very stressful, and at one point i looked up to the skies because i surely must have done something wrong in a past life to incurr not only this high-level stress but also a portion of "unpleasantness" heaped on top with a tablespoon. No point in recalling on here, as will get a mental re-enactment and i haven't even made a will.

    ..and RELAX....

  10. This I like.
    Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
    As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
    Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,
    even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

    Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
    If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter,
    for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
    Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

    Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
    it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
    Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
    But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
    many persons strive for high ideals,
    and everywhere life is full of heroism.

    Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love;
    for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
    Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
    Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
    But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
    Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

    Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
    You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you,
    no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

    Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
    And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life,
    keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
    it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

  14. Ah, thanks man. That’s very kind of you, but I’m pretty stoic and insouciant about this and life in general tbh, especially as I’d had some really positive news about another very worrying health scare with Iggy the day before. He’d been pissing blood on and off for a few weeks, sometimes quite badly. That’s worrying anyway but especially concerning in his case because when he nearly died from liver issues exactly a year to the day ago, scans showed that the toxins in his bloodstream caused by his liver problems had also damaged his kidneys. He had blood and urine tests in February but nothing showed up so he had to have a scan on Tuesday to check for cancer or necrosis. Nothing showed up on the scan but further analysis by the radiologist has revealed that he has suffered an “insult” (ie: injury) to his left kidney but it has healed. Since he had the operation on his liver and he is no longer being slowly poisoned, his craziness and boisterousness has been turned up to 11, and I think he probably picked up the injury when he jumped down the stairs in my garden, landed awkwardly and banged his left hand side on the corner of one of the steps. I can’t remember exactly when it was but it was definitely this year. I didn’t think much of it at the time as he didn’t seem to be in any pain but I bet that’s what has done it.

    The trailer failure happened where no harm came to anyone, it can be and will be fixed, the bike spends a fair amount of its time upside down anyway and hasn’t suffered any damage save for a few more battle scars. It’s also MOT’d until Tuesday, so I can still go riding with my TRF mates on Monday.

    I realise this is going to sound a bit strange, but I do think I’ve got something akin to a guardian angel as I’ve had far too many near death experiences or gross mechanical failures when travelling in vehicles at very low speed when had that happened only minutes earlier or later, I probably would have been badly injured or killed. This is just another example. I’ve written about this before and I’ll try to find the post.

  16. Well, that’s another thing. I don’t appear to be ageing at a normal rate either because apart from my beard going grey and my eyesight not being as good as it was, I look and feel exactly the same as I did 20+ years ago. It’s as if my biological clock got stuck at age 35. I also never (well, very rarely) get ill and when I do, I recover very quickly. It’s nothing to do with lifestyle either because I grew up in an extremely polluted environment surrounded by chemical factories spewing out God alone knows what and I’ve done pretty much the opposite of what the experts say you must do in order to remain fit and healthy in terms of staying away from harmful substances, getting plenty of sleep, drinking lots of water and avoiding stress etc. I must have just had a lucky spin on the genetics roulette wheel I suppose.
