2026 Hypermotard V2

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by Charlie Cox, Nov 4, 2025.

  1. It misfired just before it ran out of fuel and that was the error on the OBD.

  2. So not due to running out of fuel then?

  3. It misfired as it ran out of fuel.

I believe some other owners have had the same issue when running the tank too empty. Hypermotardking did a video about it when he first had his.

  4. £17.5 k for an SP ?
    Blimey.
I know that most of these will go on PCP or some sort of finance but even so, thats a lot of money.

  5. agreed, but so is £15k for that new ‘73’ model scrambler thing they have done. The pricing is getting silly. Ducati openly said they wanted to push profit over volume because they were a boutique brand, but the people with LOADS of money are only buying the specials to keep, so all these bikes aren’t in that category (as nice as the hyper is)

  6. Half the price of my Multi RS, and probably more fun, so a bit of a bargain!

  7. And we wonder why the bikes sales are so low in this country ?
I watch the new MX Ducati bike as thats kinda of the same but there are very few people in the MX world that look at things like that from their broken rusty transit ............. ( yes im one of them )

  8. bit of a side bar. But speaking to a mate who’s in the trade and he was saying the Ducati MX450 is a great bike but they have gone a bit ‘different’ with the geometry and some riders have struggled to get on with it. It seems it’s perhaps not as universally loved like the new Triumphs for example, they are so so popular, starting to see them a lot, in part helped by the KTM woes, people got nervous perhaps and thought they would give the triumph a go.

naturally I think the markets change, me and my 4-5 riding buddies though are all in decent ish financial positions relative to the ‘average’ but we are looking at 3-5 year old bikes that have lost 50% of their value, even if that’s stuff like Multistradas, or Diavels or stuff like the thruxtons, it’s just the way it seems to have gone for the vast majority of riders.

  9. We looked at the new Triumphs but tbh we got steered away with the clutch problems they have had . Sure they have done a couple of recalls but being a new bike its put people off buying them at least short term. The Ducats are just expensive and im struggling to get over Ducati+mud+water = reliability

I think all the new stuff people just want PCP which is also the reason the second hand market for higher priced bikes has taken a nose dive .

  10. A quite well made review of the V2 being ridden around the Amalfi coast.

  12. 2026 version identical to previous version with different paint.

  13. I'll admit I'm a bit of a Desmo snob and I have sniffed at the V2 engine in the past, but he's managed to sell it to me.
I do love the look of the thing with no trellis or belt covers in the way.
I was quite surprised by the weight. I expected it to be lighter with that engine and the lack of a frame - when you consider that the 1098 SF was only 169 kg dry. But as he says, it's not the weight but how it's distributed and suspended that matters and they've obviously got that right.
A very convincing vid. It would be a perfect bike for where I live with all the nadgery moorland roads...

  14. Not at all. It feels much lighter than recent versions. Different engine, different design.
The 698 is the proper supermotard though .

  15. Could there already be a price rise on the cards?
Ducati are now running ads on Facebook clearly showing a cash price for the SP at £17,475, thats up £180 from placing my order.
I'm guessing, passing on supply chain costs, currency fluctuation, or just trying to make the £139 a month financing option look more attractive?

  16. Even with my overtly positive man maths what a terrible dead that is.

    4 grand up front
£140 a month for three years
10 grand to buy it or give it back so they can sell it on for more and you can’t do more than 3k miles a year lol
Appreciate it’s not exactly a tourer but come on…

  17. £4k extra for the SP is a lot of money especially as, IMHO, it looks a bit shite.

  18. By my rough calculations for an extra £50 a month you could get a 5 year loan instead, buy the bike outright and do however many miles a year you like on it. Then keep the money when it comes to selling or trading it in should you wish to go down that route.

I suppose it’s the way of the world now though isn’t it.
