  1. My shed has those fitted and they were awesome when they worked for a while, but they no longer hold pressure and so now the ride is harder than Chinese algebra.

  2. Thanks folks. It was one of the best yet. Doing the yorkshires early on took a lot of the pressure off. I also boiled and chilled the potatoes in the fridge, which was another good move.

  3. I hope you roasted them in Goose fat:blush:

  6. Spent 2 hours in a car dealership to get a px value on MrsGC’s car that was 30% below market value.

  7. Car trade is on its knees. PCP market about to collapse under its own weight, higher VED, fuel prices, yada, yada, yada. Andy

  8. You might want to have your fridge checked if it can boil and chill?

  9. Had a Blat round on my 999.

Having not ridden it since I think about October I'd forgotten how different it is to my Multistrada.

    Still love it though.

  11. I like the gold wheels. I'd get mine done gold, but I don't think it'd go with the silver frame.

  15. Rode some lanes I’ve never ridden before in Essex, just the other side of Harlow, with some TRF mates. Many of them were wider than the lanes in Hertfordshire, able to accommodate 4x4s, and had obviously been knocked about a fair bit over the very wet winter. Some of the ruts were up to the foot pegs and there were holes where huge spinning tyres had dug themselves in that were several feet deep. Now that the ground has dried out and set hard, it made for challenging and very enjoyable riding, particularly as the guy leading was setting a pace, but it brought home the need for commitment and forward motion allowing the bike to skip over the rough stuff.

Naturally, I had my obligatory unscheduled dismount, this time only a mile from the end of the route while trying to show off by drifting the rear from side to side while zigzagging through the gaps between offset concrete barriers and blocks, the back came round on me, I got slapped hard into the ground and my foot got tangled up in the wheel and swingarm (again!). I’m a bit bruised and twisted up, but at least I gave the guy behind me a good laugh. Oh, and I ran out of petrol on the way home, halfway up a fairly steep hill, and was struggling to push it to the top when a Good Samaritan stopped and gave me a splash and dash from his emergency can so I could make it to the next town a couple of miles away.

I saw quite a lot of Ducatis and also a fair few youngish riders on proper bikes, which was really good to see.

Dog went bananas when got home, was beside himself with joy, which prompted him to empty the shoe rack and distribute trainers and boots all over the garden. After a strong black coffee I hobbled to the cricket ground with him so he could complete his daily round of tree sniffing and pissing and burn off some of that crazy cocker spaniel energy for an hour.
