I can bore for England. Now checked in and sitting down. Another couple of hours to wait. In the past, I have been late for ferries and even missed one. Now I am a pedestrian, I am miles early and don't know what to make of that!
Bought a very expensive teddy bear today Fortunately there was a special offer on so they threw this in free…
I shelled out for Brittany ferries WiFi. Boarding was quite funny. They made an announcement that the group of young people have any knives or hammers on view. That seemed a bit strong as I chatted to them and they seemed fine. But I know nothing. They were Cardiff University students off to do a archaeology dig in Spain, so they were tooled up legally!
Went for a lovely ride with the Surrey lot - first time it felt like a propah group ride since about 5 years ago. Journey back from Arundel/Goodwood was best, and finally via A3/Cobham, now finished, added to the enjoyment.
10 hours out and about through Shropshire/Wales, So and I on our supermotos. Bikes are filthy, wash tomorrow CBA tonight.
We've been out for coffee with a friend then went to the Metro Centre and bought fuck all but spent £70 on lunch
I am here in Spain in Santander. Weather is good as was crossing. Spanish customs was interesting. I was last (coz I walk slowly) and they insisted my rucksack was X-rayed. Not searched, but just X-rayed. What were they looking for, when they knew that I had come from England? What would you smuggle from England to Spain? Right-wing politicians, bull, fake Rolex? The ferry wasn't rough but I found it difficult to get about as I am a bit unsteady on my pins. Nothing that I can do about that, but I can learn better Spanish!
In my experience, go for a look around the town. Then you'll be late. On the whole it's more exciting.
Today I have replaced a full set of lights around the fence in the garden and put more garden furniture out on the "paysheo's". Doris's daughter has just been round for the past couple of hours for a cuppa.....it's always nice to see her cos she's got a wicked sense of humour
Trip into Wales yesterday with 6 other riders I know. Was a great day, weather was perfect, scenery good and aside from the Owls Nest near Llandovery being closed (went to West End Cafe instead) everything went to plan. 240 miles covered on a mix of A and B roads. Found a new cafe (Erwood Station) with excellent selection of cake, will be going back there for sure
Dropped in there (Owls) last year but just too mad busy for our tastes got told close to a hour waiting for food.
Met up with a very old and dear friend in a lovely pub in an even more beautiful hamlet called East Dean just north of Chichester, near Goodwood. It'd been a few years and we kept tripping ourselves up trying to ask questions, answer questions and reminisce about the last 40 years. A brilliant day.
Went down to RHS Wisley as Mrs GG’s guest because she’d been told the tulips were out; her informant was correct. Then on to Silvermere to look for a new carry bag as my last one had developed a tear, but that was unsuccessful. And spent the rest of the afternoon trying to placate Mrs GG and rectify all her car settings after a SEAT update. She wasn’t happy.
