Ok Fight Fans - Best Ever Boxing Punch?

  1. She does also seem to have a good degree of nastiness and/or rage about her work.

  2. And bloody quick/heavy hands!! :astonished:

  3. Fury v Makhmudov Saturday

Fury did look like he was up for it and keen at the weigh in and sounded serious when interviewed.

I expect he will win, though the Canadian/ Russian has a big punch allegedly. A really big win could set up a major return, a so so performance will signal the start of the final wind down. At 37, Fury doesn't have anymore time to waste on another retirement.

  4. I’m oft to WHL later with the boy to watch Fury v. Megahaveadoodah. I hope the weather warms up a bit though or else they’ll have to keep their dressing gowns on for the first couple of rounds.

  5. Wardley defends his WBO heavyweight title against Dubois in Manchester, on 9th May.

This might be a good fight.

  6. Dubois v Wardley. Who’s gonna win this one?

I hope it’s Wardley. He’s not difficult to hit though and against Dubois this might be an issue. But boy can he scrap. Should be a good one :)

  7. I’m a big fan of Wardley both as a boxer and a person and have been to a a couple of his fights - the absolute banger with Clark that ended in a draw and the last one against Parker. Can’t wait.

  8. It's just too difficult to call. Up to now Wardley's power has bridged his lack of experience but has he learnt enough? I think Dubois needs to impose early doors and continue in this vein, even with just his solid jabs, but if he lets up as the fight progresses he'll be in danger of that one punch.

I like Dubois, if only for showing us how poor Joshua actually is.

On which note, this bout is far more relevant & interesting than Joshua v Fury.

  9. Yes, Wardley’s really grown on me. A cheeky chappie with a sense of humour. And does he like a dust up!! :astonished:

Dubois struggles a bit with the media stuff. His sister on the other hand comes across quite well! She needs to give him some lessons…

  10. Yeah, he could end it with one punch, such is his power. But if Wardley can get him into the trenches…

  11. He seems like a gentle but not very bright giant and tbh it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if one of his interviews started with “Tell me about the rabbits, George”

  12. I know what you mean.

Dubois had an unusual childhood to say the least. His father claimed he had a vision his son would become heavyweight world champion even before he was born. He was home schooled on a diet of faith and a daily hour of press ups by his overbearing (svengali?) father. To the point he now doesn't say much without his fathers input or perhaps isn't even capable.

His father is also an ever present ringside, sometimes in the corner and in a similar manner his fight mindset is also prompted from him.

  13. £25 for a fight on the telly with a dubious undercard is stretching things for me these days.

  14. My word… and it didn’t disappoint. Congratulations Dubois, hung right in there and his power came through for the victory.

Wardley must learn to refrain from leaving his chin in the breeze… He gave Dubois some ridiculous free shots. Not recommended…

    Great scrap… rispec :D:upyeah:

  15. Congratulations to Dubois.

    Brutal fight.

There's a rematch option which Wardley I expect Wardley will want.

  16. It was a bit of an early stoppage for me. He had at least another 5 rounds in him.

Joking aside - it looked as if he was prepared to die in there and the ref was right to step in. Tbh, the doctor should have stopped it earlier. I think that may be the best fight I’ve ever seen - it was like something from a Rocky film. I just hope it doesn’t turn out to be one of those brutal bouts which breaks something in a fighter and takes part of their soul. I was quite emotional at the end of it tbh and so wanted him to land one of those huge overhands and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Hats off to Dubois. To come back from two early knockdowns like that was quite something.

  17. Lets hope not, getting mightily bored of 'trilogy' fights.

  18. Wow. Just wow. Bombs being thrown all over the shop. Great stuff.
