While we're on (or were...) the subject of language and mispronunciation: politicians, who are supposed to be articulate as most of their job involves talking, but mangle their grammar and use nonsensical words in statements. It doesn't give you much confidence. If you had any to start with, of course. Health Secretary Wes Streeting was on the GBN this morning talking about I know not what. He opened his remarks by passing on his regards to GBN Breakfast News presenter Eammon Holmes who is in hospital after suffering a stroke. He wished Mr Holmes "a fulsome recovery". No, no, no Mr Streeting. You wish him FULL recovery, not a complimentary or flattering one. Nor is the hope of an abundant, generous or ample recovery entirely appropriate either. One wishes him to get better, full stop. Not get better to a large extent. Honestly...
All staff should be trained to respond: "No you can't. I will get it for you". The depressing thing is that most would need such training.
When people flash their lights at you at night because they think you’re on main beam, you flash back at them to show them you were not on main beam and then they flash again.
No, it happens maybe once every 2-3 months, it would be a lot more often if there actually was a problem. It's passed it's MOT every time and of course they check alignment as part of the test. Perhaps the more likely explanation is that it's tightly wound up and repressed people who see it as their permission slip to act a bit violent for a moment?
Does your car possess a head light height adjuster, the type you can higher and lower manually when carrying passengers and luggage?
I have this with my Alfa Tonale, I figure it is a combination of led lights and adaptive headlights (dims the offside with oncoming traffic). Nothing I can do about it unfortunately as it's just a design feature.
you could be right but who knows in this day and age? It could be the make of car you're driving or even it's colour! Long after I'm gone, there will be laws about this sort of thing.
I sometimes reach automatically for the dip switch when I meet an oncoming car and realise that I was on low beam already so I've inadvertently flashed the other driver. Do you make a quick flash in apology to acknowledge your mistake or does that just make things worse?? Auto dip/matrix headlights can be a pita. They don't seem to react until the two cars are staring each other full in the face by which time you're both blinded anyway. I would rather deep my lights manually with the stalk when I still the flare of oncoming headlights before they round the bend or crest the rise. It just riles when the other driver doesn't bother and relies on the auto function.
Are you saying you’ve never had this problem with similar cars to yours coming in the opposite direction. And perhaps the cars that indicate to you that your lights are a problem, aren’t repressed, but the ones who don’t are repressed or perhaps to polite to indicate to you your lights are a problem. If I remember correctly, the government are looking into the problem.
