The Importance of a Sophisticated Vocabulary I recently caught up with an old school friend who’s gone on to become a high-flying chartered engineer. I asked him what he was currently working on. He informed me, that he was currently overseeing the "thermal-aqueous decontamination of various ceramics, aluminium, and stainless steel alloys within a restricted-access environment under rigorous supervision." I was properly impressed, right up until I realised he was just washing the dishes with hot water while his wife kept an eye on him.
