I was going to say that I am now unsure whether to bother with a VPN as Amazon Prime video and Netflix work fine through the hotel WiFi. BBC iplayer and ITV2 don't work, but I guess they want to sell rights abroad. I can live happily without ITV and BBC for a few weeks, but the Beeb website is useful only without all of the advertising guff that you get in Spain. I think that I will try out aVPN but sort it out in England. Which one do people recommend?
The weather here hasn't been good and I've not been feeling very well. Some bug. I feel a bit better today and the weather has looked up today, so I'll go for a wander in a mo.
Could be Spanish Fly Perry , that foreign food plays havoc with British tummies . NordVPN can be used on up to 10 devices of any style, operating system, etc etc., you just log in to your NordVPN account. Double letters ‘randomly’ appearing in emails sounds very much like a user typo when entering the email. Remember, computers can only regurgitate the data they are given, shite in = shite out. Enjoy your trip.
Thx. I am enjoying things. I am feeling better and weather is looking up. I'm still not completely sold on a VPN. I won't have it on two Android devices now anyway. I will want it on one Adroid tablet, one Windows PC and one iPad. The phones, whether Android or iPhone, will stay untouched. Whatever way, nothing will be done away from home. Now that we are in a new tax year in the UK and I have lost thousands in my trust fund, I guess that saves me bother of appointment of a tax advisor! Always look on the bright side of life t'dum, t'dum, t'dummy, dum, dum!
i had the issue when awaz from home that i couldnt use netfix etc, so i now use a fritzbox router and wireguard to establish a VPN with my home router. no issues with tv etc away from home
I think that I have installed it on this phone. I didn’t mean to and was looking up price. I think it's free and knows that I am in Spain. Next task will be to change my location
It now has put me in Germany. I realise that it's free but I would like a say in where it puts me. Crazy shit . . . . . .
I have some issue regarding charging on both my phone and tablet. It may be the cable, the hotel room USB socket, Android being crapola, or God. The phone died and it is now in charge, that means it may charge, or may not, one never knows. That free VPN software looked shaky to me, it's on the phone that died and is now on charge, but no way is it going on this tablet. I realise that I am unreasonable, but having a very slight say on which country I am put in would be nice. If I want to watch the iPlayer, being in Germany or Spain is a killer, but that's what it does. You get what you pay for, I guess.
I’m not sure why it is saying you are in Germany as with the version I have, you create your own vpn tunnel back to your own router. This was the only stable vpn connection I was able to use during my time in China, it was a god send..
I've got rid on my phone. It seemed inordinately difficult to pick your location. Maybe if I spent more time with it, all would of revealed itself, but as I never really wanted on my phone,it was easiest to just bin it. When I am in the UK, I will look again and may possibly have another crack with Nord VPN, but as someone who is only abroad for a few weeks per year, VPNing seems like hassle for very little reward. Very unimpressed and happy to live in the UK. Netflix and Amazon prime are fine, with only the BBC suffering. If I lived abroad from the UK, it might be worth the hassle, but I don't and I am allergic to hassle. It has been a worthwhile exercise, though, as I was always thinking of having a place in Spain, but after investigating all the new rules since the UK left the EU, I would never bother. Travel seems easy and I am fortunate to be able to afford it and hotels - good hotels - make my life easy. The next question is MADRID and how do I get there for possibly a trip next year. I could fly from Bristol but I am not keen, or could boat here to Santander and then train. Although there's an airport here and if you can fly from Santander to Madrid, that might be fun!
